I decided to read this book for Valentines day based on the title and the book cover.  It did have some romance in the plot, however it was more about a young girl's relationship with her dead best friend, which is still going on after the friends death.  It is also centered around the murders of several young girls in the neighborhood.  Each murdered girl has a homemade Valentine placed somewhere on their corpse.  Hannah is hell bent on finding the murderer, and at the same time attracted to a bad boy that could possibly even be the murder!  Her dead friend Lillian is by her side the entire story.  I enjoyed the story very much!  However, I suggest that you read it for the adventure, not for the romance!

Excerpts:
There's a dark flutter in my chest, like a bird smashing itself against a window, and I know what's coming next. Page 5

I'm breathing and my heart is beating and as much as it hurts-as much searing, monumental pain as it causes me-I have to exist.  Page 37
