Many years ago I read some of Daphne du Maurier's books and loved them. so, when I came across this one, I was very excited to get started reading it. But, unfortunately, this one did not hold up to my expectations. The story was interesting enough, but it just not move very fast and I felt like it was just dragging along. I believe this story was actually based on Daphne du Maurier's own grandmother which I thought was interesting, but it just did not hold my interest like previous books by du Maurier.
